Best SIM-based calling CRM · seven checks, three of them uncomfortable
Everything on this search has the same features. Comparing feature lists will not tell you anything.
Best SIM-based calling CRM by Telecalling Software: decided by seven smaller checks.
When every product does the same thing, the best SIM-based calling CRM is decided by seven smaller questions. A vendor page, and it says so. These seven separate products once the technology is identical, and you can run them against anyone on this shelf, not just us. Three of our own answers are the wrong ones, and they are in the same list rather than at the bottom.

Which is the best SIM-based calling CRM?
Picking the best SIM-based calling CRM is hard because every product on this search, Telecalling Software included, does the same thing: an Android app that dials from the caller's own SIM and keeps a lead record. The features match, so the feature list is not what decides it. What separates them is narrower: whether the free or trial offer survives contact with a real list, whether the price is per user or a flat bundle that punishes small teams, whether the outcome of a call is two taps or a form, whether callbacks and calls made outside the app are captured, and what the vendor admits it cannot do. Telecalling Software is ₹161 per user per month with the calling half free forever, and the seven checks below include the three where we come off worse.
Best SIM-based calling CRM checklist: seven checks when features match
| Check | What it checks | Telecalling Software answer |
|---|---|---|
| Testing without a card | Whether a real list can be tried before paying | Yes, the calling half is free with no end date |
| Per-user or bundle pricing | Whether a small team pays for unused seats | Per user, ₹161 a month on yearly billing, no seat minimum |
| Taps to log a call | Whether outcomes are still logged after a month | Two taps, around ten seconds per call |
| Calls outside the app | Whether callbacks and normally dialled calls are captured | Yes, both appear against the number with an outcome sheet |
| Several lines at once | Whether predictive dialing is possible | No. A SIM places one call at a time |
Can you test it on a real list without a card?
A demo on sample data tells you nothing about your own numbers, your own connect rate or your own callers. Several products on this shelf need a card before the first call.
Telecalling Software. Yes, and with no end date. The dialer, list filters, call analysis, analytics and automatic WhatsApp are free permanently, no card and no user cap, so testing is not a countdown. The paid half opens for 3 days when you want to judge it.
Is the price per user, or a bundle?
Flat plans for five, ten or twenty seats are the commonest way a four-person team overpays on this shelf. Below about ten users a bundle is nearly always worse.
Telecalling Software. Per user, ₹161 a month on yearly billing or ₹251 on three months, GST extra. No seat minimum, and users are added or removed from the dashboard. We are not the cheapest on this shelf at every team size, and the per-seat table on our cheapest page shows where we are not.
How many taps does logging a call take?
The single best predictor of whether a CRM is still being filled in after a month. A form takes twenty seconds; by the third hour of calling nobody fills it.
Telecalling Software. Two. A sheet appears as the call ends: outcome, a note typed or spoken, and a next date. Around ten seconds. This is the thing to test on your real list, because it is where most of these products quietly fail.
Does it capture calls made outside the app?
Callbacks are where a good share of conversions come from, and they never arrive through the dialer. A product that only records what it dialled has a hole in its reporting.
Telecalling Software. Yes. A call dialled from the normal phone screen, or an incoming call from a customer, still appears against that number with the same outcome sheet at the end.
Can it record calls?
The most common requirement that rules this whole category out, and the one buyers discover last.
Telecalling Software. No. Android stopped third-party apps recording calls, so nothing on this shelf can do it from an ordinary handset regardless of what a listing says. If recording matters, buy cloud telephony instead and do not let anyone here tell you otherwise.
Is there an iPhone app for callers?
Teams that already run on iPhone find this out after choosing, which wastes weeks.
Telecalling Software. No. Callers need an Android handset. A manager can use the dashboard from anything, including an iPhone browser, but the dialing side is Android only.
Can it dial several lines at once?
Predictive dialing is worth real money above roughly twenty callers, and it is the point at which SIM-based products stop being the right answer.
Telecalling Software. No, and nor can any SIM-based product. A SIM is one line and places one call at a time. Anything advertising SIM-based predictive dialing is describing something the hardware cannot do.
Best SIM-based calling CRM test: one day, one real list
A hundred numbers, one full day.
Run this against any two products on this shelf. It takes a day and settles the question better than a month of comparison pages, including this one.
- Take one real list of about a hundred numbers, not sample data. Your own connect rate is the only benchmark that means anything.
- Give it to one caller for a full day rather than an hour, because the interesting failures happen in the third hour, not the first.
- At the end, count three things: calls dialled, outcomes actually logged, and follow-up dates set. The gap between the first and the second is the product's real cost.
- Check a callback. Ring the caller from another phone and see whether that call lands on the record.
- Then read the vendor's own pricing page for the seat maths at your team size, not the listicle that sent you there.
If you would rather see several products side by side with dated prices than run a trial, the neutral pages are the top five for small teams and the per-seat cost comparison.
Best SIM-based calling CRM FAQ
What are the top 5 CRMs in India?
- It depends entirely on what the CRM is for, and the honest answer splits into three groups. For enterprise sales the global suites lead. For contact centres it is the cloud telephony platforms. For SIM-based telecalling, the group this page is about, the recognisable Indian names are a handful of Android-first products with broadly matching features and prices between roughly ₹150 and ₹800 a user. Our neutral list pages name five products with dated prices rather than repeating a ranking from a blog.
How much does Runo call CRM cost?
- Runo publishes the figure published on its own pricing page. We list it alongside the other products with per-seat maths at one, five, ten and twenty-five users on our cheapest telecalling CRM page, and there is a dedicated Runo alternatives page. Read the figure from their own pricing page before you decide, because prices on this shelf move and a comparison written six months ago is not evidence.
What makes one SIM-based CRM better than another?
- Not the feature list, because they match. In practice it comes down to how many taps logging a call takes, whether the free or trial offer lets you test on a real list, whether per-user pricing suits your team size better than a bundle, and whether calls made outside the app are captured. Run the seven checks on this page against any two products and the differences appear quickly.
Is a SIM-based CRM better than a cloud CRM?
- Better for a small outbound team, worse for a contact centre, and the dividing line is whether your calls mostly go out or mostly come in. SIM-based wins on caller ID, per-minute cost and setup time. Cloud wins on recording, inbound routing and dialing several lines at once. Neither is generally superior.
Do all SIM-based CRMs work on any Android phone?
- Most want a reasonably current Android; ours needs Android 8 or newer. None of them need an expensive handset, because the work is a list, a dialer and an outcome sheet. What does matter is battery: a full day of calling on a cheap phone will want a charger by afternoon.
Which is the best SIM-based calling CRM for a small team?
- For two to ten callers the deciding factors are per-user pricing with no seat minimum, a genuinely free way to test, and low-friction logging, because a small team has nobody to enforce process. That is the case we make, and our small business page sets out the four constraints in full. We are not the cheapest option at every size and the per-seat tables show where we are not.
Can I move my data if I pick the wrong one?
- Ask this before signing up, of any vendor. Ours exports leads, notes, outcomes and follow-up dates to CSV whenever you want them, with nothing held back. A product that makes leaving awkward is telling you something about how it expects to keep customers.
Do these CRMs need a separate SIM for each caller?
- Each caller needs a SIM in the handset they call from, which is usually the one already there. Many teams put a second work SIM in the other slot so the business number stays with the company rather than with whoever was using it, and the dialer can be pointed at either.
Is a free SIM-based calling CRM worth using?
- Depends which half is free. A free dialer that forgets the call leaves you with a faster day and nothing to show for it. Free that includes the outcome, the analytics and the automatic WhatsApp, as ours does, is genuinely usable as a permanent setup for one person. The part we charge for is the team layer: records, assignment, reminders and the dashboard.
How long does it take to switch from another SIM-based CRM?
- Usually a day. Export your leads to CSV from the old product, import them here with the column mapping, install the app on each caller's phone and carry on. The reason it is quick is that nothing has to be rebuilt: no numbers to port, no routing to configure, and the callers keep the handsets and SIMs they already use.
Should I trust a "best of" list on this search?
- Read who wrote it. Most of the lists on this shelf are published by one of the products on them, ours included, and the ranking usually reflects that. The useful part of any list is the dated prices and the stated limits; the ordering is opinion. This page is a vendor page and says so at the top.
What would make you not recommend your own product?
- Three things, all of them on this page rather than buried: you need call recording, your callers are on iPhone, or you need predictive dialing across several lines. Any one of those means a cloud contact centre, and no price difference compensates for it.
How do I compare SIM-based CRMs without a free trial on each?
- Ask three questions of any vendor that will not let you test: how many taps does logging a call take, are calls made outside the app captured, and how do I export my data. Reluctance on the third is the informative one. A product confident in itself does not make testing difficult.
Do SIM-based calling CRMs work outside India?
- Technically yes, anywhere an Android handset and a SIM work, and the caller ID advantage holds in most markets where mobile numbers are the norm. The reason this category is concentrated in India is that the alternative, cloud telephony with virtual numbers, is comparatively expensive here and gets answered less.
Does it matter which SIM-based CRM my competitor uses?
- Barely. Products on this shelf are close enough that a competitor's choice usually reflects who called them rather than a considered evaluation. Your own day of testing on your own list is worth more than the entire market's revealed preference.
