What is the telecalling CRM full form?
The telecalling CRM full form is customer relationship management, so a telecalling CRM is customer relationship management software built around phone calls: every lead, call, note and follow-up date kept as one record attached to a phone number. The full form is the same in every industry; only what the system is organised around changes. Telecalling floors use about fifteen other abbreviations alongside it, and the table on this page spells out all of them.
Telecalling CRM full form list: every abbreviation from the first fortnight
The system
| Short | Full form | What it means here |
|---|---|---|
| CRM | Customer relationship management | The system holding who your customers are and everything said to them. In telecalling it is organised around the phone number rather than around a company or a deal. |
| BPO | Business process outsourcing | A company that runs a process for a client, often but not always calling. Frequently confused with telecalling, which is usually a company calling its own leads. |
| KPO | Knowledge process outsourcing | The analytical end of outsourcing: research, analysis and specialist work rather than transactional calling. |
| IVR | Interactive voice response | The automated menu a caller hears when they ring you. Inbound only, and something SIM-based telecalling does not have. |
The call
| Short | Full form | What it means here |
|---|---|---|
| CLI | Calling line identification | The number the person you ring sees on their screen. The single reason SIM-based dialing gets answered more often than a virtual number. |
| DND | Do not disturb | India's registry of numbers that must not receive unsolicited promotional calls, run under TRAI rules. Respecting it is your obligation, not your software's. |
| TRAI | Telecom Regulatory Authority of India | The regulator behind the DND registry and the rules on commercial calling, registered telemarketers and headers. |
The numbers
| Short | Full form | What it means here |
|---|---|---|
| AHT | Average handling time | Mean length of a call including any work after it. A contact-centre metric that outbound sales teams often borrow and rarely need. |
| FCR | First call resolution | The share of issues settled on the first call. A support measure, meaningless for outbound sales where several calls are normal. |
| ASA | Average speed of answer | How long an inbound caller waits before someone picks up. Inbound only. |
The people
| Short | Full form | What it means here |
|---|---|---|
| KRA | Key result area | The parts of the job somebody is accountable for. On a calling floor, usually calls made, follow-ups kept and conversions. |
| KPI | Key performance indicator | The specific number attached to a KRA. KRA is the area, KPI is the figure, and the two get used interchangeably almost everywhere. |
| TL | Team leader | The person running a group of callers day to day, usually the first promotion out of a calling seat. |
| QA | Quality assurance | Scoring recorded calls against a rubric. Standard in a BPO, and not possible on SIM-based dialing, because Android does not permit third-party call recording. |
| CTC | Cost to company | Total annual package including everything, which is how Indian salaries are quoted. Take-home pay is meaningfully lower, which matters when reading a telecalling job advertisement. |

Telecalling CRM full form FAQ
What is CRM in telecaller?
- For a telecaller, CRM is the app that holds the day's numbers and remembers what happened on each call. The letters stand for customer relationship management, but from a caller's seat it is simpler than that sounds: the list to work through, the name and last note appearing when a number is dialled, and a short sheet at the end of the call asking what happened and when to ring again.
What is the full form of telecalling?
- Telecalling is not an abbreviation, so it has no full form. It is a compound word, from telephone and calling, used mainly in India and South Asia for phone-based sales and follow-up work. The equivalent terms elsewhere are inside sales, telesales or telemarketing, and each carries a slightly different flavour.
What is the full form of BPO and CRM?
- BPO is business process outsourcing: a company that runs a process on behalf of a client, often including phone work. CRM is customer relationship management: the software holding customer records and history. They are not comparable things, which is why the pairing confuses people. A BPO is a business; a CRM is a tool that a BPO, or anyone else, uses.
Is CRM a software or a process?
- Both, and the ambiguity is genuine rather than pedantic. Customer relationship management was a management idea before it was a product category, and people still use the letters for both: "our CRM" usually means the software, while "CRM strategy" means the practice. In telecalling it nearly always means the software.
What does a telecalling CRM actually store?
- A phone number as the key, then a name, a source, a stage, every call made or received with its outcome, the notes from each one, and the next follow-up date. That is the whole shape of it. Anything further, such as products, payments or renewal dates, sits on top of those.
What is the difference between KRA and KPI?
- A KRA is an area you are accountable for; a KPI is the number that measures it. "Follow-up discipline" is a KRA and "ninety per cent of promised callbacks completed on the day" is the KPI attached to it. In practice most Indian job advertisements use the two words as though they mean the same thing.
What does CLI mean in calling?
- Calling line identification: the number displayed on the recipient's phone when you ring them. It matters commercially more than it sounds, because an unfamiliar landline or toll-free number gets ignored far more often than an ordinary mobile number. SIM-based dialing shows the caller's own mobile number, which is its main advantage.
What is DND in telecalling?
- The Do Not Disturb registry, under which Indian subscribers can block unsolicited commercial calls. Numbers on it must not receive promotional calling, and the obligation belongs to the business rather than to whichever dialer it uses. Calls to people who enquired, bought or are due for renewal sit in a different category. We keep a fuller page on it.
Why are there so many abbreviations in telecalling?
- Most of them arrived from the contact-centre industry, which grew up measuring everything and naming each measurement. A small sales team genuinely needs about five of the fifteen on this page; the rest belong to inbound operations with queues and service-level agreements, and get repeated in job advertisements more out of habit than need.
Which of these terms does a small calling team actually need?
- Five: CRM, CLI, DND, KRA and CTC. The first four describe the tool, the caller ID, the legal boundary and what you are accountable for, and the fifth is how your salary is quoted. AHT, FCR and ASA are inbound contact-centre measures that outbound teams rarely have any use for.
What is the full form of CRM in a call centre?
- The same three words, customer relationship management, with a different emphasis. In a call centre the CRM sits behind an inbound queue and shows the agent a customer's history as a routed call arrives. In telecalling it decides who to ring next and holds what the last conversation produced.
Is a telecalling CRM different software from a normal CRM?
- Usually yes, and buying the wrong one is a common and expensive mistake. A general CRM stores customers well and was not built to dial an Indian SIM. A telecalling CRM like Telecalling Software is built around the call, so the record opens when the number is dialled and the outcome writes itself at the end. Our page on what CRM means in telecalling sets out the four differences.
What is the full form of BPO?
- Business process outsourcing. A company that runs a process for a client, which may be calling but is often back-office work with no phone in it at all: payroll, claims, data operations. The letters describe a business arrangement rather than a type of software.
What does KRA stand for in a telecalling job?
- Key result area: the parts of the job you are accountable for. On a calling floor these are typically calls made, follow-ups completed and conversions, and they appear in almost every Indian telecalling job advertisement, usually alongside KPI as though the two words mean the same thing.
What is the full form of CTC in a telecaller job offer?
- Cost to company: everything the employer spends on you in a year, including provident fund, gratuity accrual and any insurance. It is larger than what reaches your bank each month, which is why the question to ask in an interview is the monthly in-hand figure rather than the annual package.
