Telecalling script in English · one whole call, written to be spoken

Fifty opening lines are no use if you do not know what to say second.

Telecalling script in English by Telecalling Software: every part, line by line.

This telecalling script in English covers one whole outbound sales call to an Indian customer: opening, permission, two questions, a one-line pitch, four objections, the close and the follow-up call. Every part is written as short Caller and Customer lines with a note on why it works. Replace the words in round brackets with your own name, company, product and price, then say it aloud before you dial.

What is a telecalling script in English?

A telecalling script in English is a short spoken plan for a sales call, written as lines to say, not paragraphs to read. It has seven parts: opening, permission, two qualifying questions, a one-line pitch, objection replies, the close and the follow-up call. The full script from Telecalling Software is below, with the reason each line works.

01 · The formatSeven parts

Telecalling script in English format: seven parts of one call

Telecalling script in English format: each part of the call, what to say and why it works
Part of the callWhat to sayWhy it works
OpeningYour name, your company and the reason for the callA reason the customer recognises keeps them on the line
PermissionAsk for two minutes, or offer another timeA customer who agreed to listen does listen
Qualifying questionsOne question on need, one on timingThe answers decide which benefit you mention
PitchOne benefit, built from the two answersOne aimed sentence beats a list of features
ObjectionsAcknowledge, ask one short question, then replyThe first objection is rarely the whole story
CloseOffer two real options and fix a dayA choice is easier to answer than yes or no
Follow-up callBegin with what was said last timeStarting from zero wastes the first call

A telecalling script in English has seven parts, and each one is a few short spoken lines, not a paragraph. The opening gives your name, your company and a reason the customer will recognise. The permission line asks for two minutes or offers another time. Two qualifying questions follow, one about the need and one about the timing. The pitch is a single sentence built from those two answers. Objections get an acknowledgement, one short question and a reply. The close offers two real options and ends on a day and a time. The follow-up call opens with what was said last time. Written out, the whole script fits on one printed page and takes two or three minutes to say aloud. Fill in the words in round brackets before the first call, and say every line aloud once before using it on a customer.

02 · The call itselfOpening to close

Telecalling script in English sample: opening to close

Five parts in the order they happen. The customer lines are there so you can hear the rhythm; real customers will say something else, and the order still holds.

  1. Opening

The first ten seconds of every outbound call.

    • Caller: Good morning. Am I speaking with (customer's name)?
    • Customer: Yes, speaking.
    • Caller: This is (your name) from (your company name). You asked about (your product) on our website on Monday, and I am calling about that.

Why it works: Name, company and a reason that belongs to the customer, all inside one breath. A reason they recognise is what stops the call ending at hello.

  2. Permission

Straight after the opening, before anything about the product.

    • Caller: It will take about two minutes. Is this a good time, or shall I call you at four?
    • Customer: Two minutes is fine.
    • Caller: Thank you. I will keep it short.

Why it works: Offering a real second time shows the question is sincere. A customer who has agreed to two minutes gives you those two minutes.

  3. Two qualifying questions

Once the customer has agreed to talk.

    • Caller: May I ask, is this for your own use or for your business?
    • Customer: For my shop.
    • Caller: And when are you hoping to have it in place: this month, or later in the year?
    • Customer: This month, if the price is right.

Why it works: One question about the need and one about the timing. The first tells you which benefit to mention; the second tells you how soon to follow up.

  4. The pitch in one line

Only after both questions have been answered.

    • Caller: Since it is for your shop and you want it this month, the part that will matter to you is (one benefit, in plain words).
    • Customer: What does it cost?
    • Caller: It is (your price) for (the period). Shall I tell you what that includes?

Why it works: The sentence is assembled from the customer's own two answers, so it sounds like a reply and not a recital. When the price is asked for, it is given plainly.

  5. The close

When the questions stop and the customer is still on the line.

    • Caller: Would you like to go ahead today, or would you prefer to see it first?
    • Customer: I would like to see it first.
    • Caller: Of course. I can show you on Thursday at eleven or on Friday at four. Which is better?
    • Customer: Thursday at eleven.
    • Caller: Thursday at eleven it is. I will send the details on WhatsApp now, and you have my number. Thank you, (customer's name).

Why it works: A choice between two real options is easier to answer than a yes or a no. The call ends on a day and an hour, and the caller is the one who acts next.

03 · When the customer pushes backFour objections

Objection handling script in English: four replies

Each reply has the same three moves: accept what was said, ask one short question, then answer only that.

04 · The second callIt opens with the first one

Follow-up call script in English

Follow-up call

On the day and at the hour that was agreed.

  • Caller: Good morning, (customer's name). This is (your name) from (your company name). We spoke on Tuesday, and you wanted to discuss it at home before deciding.
  • Customer: Yes, I remember.
  • Caller: Did you get a chance to look at the summary I sent? Is there a question I can answer now?
  • Customer: We wanted to know about the warranty.
  • Caller: (Your answer, in one sentence.) With that settled, shall we fix the visit for this week?

Why it works: The call opens with what the customer said last time, so it continues a conversation. A follow-up that starts from zero throws away the first call.

05 · An illustrationThe brackets filled in

Telecalling script in English example: a service plan call in Pune

This is an illustration, not a real caller. Neha is a telecaller for a water purifier service company in Pune, with 50 website enquiries to ring today. Before the first dial she fills in the brackets, says the opening aloud 10 times, and decides the two times she will offer when someone is busy. This is how her first twenty seconds sound.

  • Neha: Good morning. Am I speaking with Mr Kulkarni?
  • Customer: Yes, speaking.
  • Neha: This is Neha from the water purifier service team. You asked about an annual service plan on our website on Monday, and I am calling about that. It will take about two minutes. Is this a good time, or shall I call you at four?
  • Customer: Now is fine.
  • Neha: Thank you. May I ask, is the purifier at your home or at your office?

For a trade with its own vocabulary, start from a script written for it: the personal loan telecalling script, the real estate calling script and the insurance telecalling script each carry the questions and objections of that business.

06 · English as a second languageSix habits

English speaking tips for telecallers

For many telecallers in India, English is a second or third language, and the same is true of many of the people they ring. Clear beats fluent.

Say this

  • May I know your name, please?
  • I will call you back at five.
  • Could you say that once more?
  • Please send me the document.
  • I am calling about your enquiry.

Not this

  • Your good name?
  • I will revert.
  • What? Tell me again.
  • Kindly do the needful.
  • We have an exciting offer.

When the customer would plainly be more comfortable in Hindi, switch and use the telecalling script in Hindi. For what to do before, during and after the call, in any language, see telecalling tips.

07 · For jobseekersA one-minute mock call

Telecalling script in English for a job interview

Telecaller interviews commonly include a mock call: the interviewer plays a customer and you sell them something for a minute. Learn this short version by heart, with the company's own product in the brackets.

What the interviewer listens for

  • An opening with your name, the company and a reason, said without hurry
  • Staying calm and polite when the answer is no
  • A question before any answer to an objection
  • A close that names a day and a time

Telecalling interview questions and answers

  • Candidate: Good afternoon. This is (your name) calling from (the company you are interviewing with). You enquired about (the product they sell) last week. Do you have two minutes?
  • Interviewer: I am not interested.
  • Candidate: I understand. May I ask whether it is the timing, or the product itself?
  • Interviewer: It is too costly.
  • Candidate: Thank you for telling me. May I ask what you were expecting to pay, so that I can check whether we have an option near it?
  • Interviewer: Fine, send me the details.
  • Candidate: I will send them on WhatsApp now and call you tomorrow at eleven to answer any questions. Thank you for your time.
08 · A copy to keepPrint, do not hunt for a file

Telecalling script in English PDF and print copy

There is no PDF download on this page, and we are not going to pretend there is one. What you can do is print it. Use the print option in your browser, and if you want a file instead of paper, choose save as PDF in the print window. Then:

  1. Write your own name, company, product and price over the round brackets, by hand.
  2. Cross out any line you would never say, and write your own version beside it.
  3. Keep the page next to the phone for the first week, and look at it only when you are stuck.
09 · Questions

Telecalling script in English FAQ

How to speak telecaller in English?

Speak in short sentences, slowly, with one idea in each. Open with your name, your company and the reason for the call, ask a question, then listen. Prepare the lines you find hard and say them aloud before the shift. Clear, simple English at a steady pace is understood better than fast English with long words, and customers respond to clarity far more than to accent.

What is the basic script for a call center?

The basic script for a call center has five parts: a greeting with your name and company, the reason for the call, a question or two to understand the customer, the answer or offer, and a close that confirms the next step. Inbound support scripts add a line that repeats the problem back. Outbound sales scripts add replies to the common objections.

How do I write a telecalling script in English?

Write it the way people speak: lines of under fifteen words, one idea each, in the order of the call. Start with the opening, add two questions, one sentence of pitch, replies to the objections you hear most, and a close with a day and a time. Then read it aloud and cut whatever sounds written. A script is finished when you can say it without looking.

How to talk with customers in telecalling?

Talk to one person, not to a list. Say why you are calling in the first sentence, ask before you tell, and let the customer finish before you answer. Use their words when you reply, keep your voice a little slower than theirs, and end every call by agreeing what happens next and when. Politeness and a clear reason carry most calls.

Is there a telecalling script in English PDF?

This page does not offer a PDF file, and we will not pretend one exists. The script here can be printed straight from your browser, and most browsers let you choose save as PDF in the print window if you want a copy on your phone. A printed page beside the keypad is more useful on a calling day than a file in a folder.

How long should a telecalling script in English be?

Short enough to fit on one page and to say in two or three minutes if the customer hardly spoke. Seven parts of two to five lines each is plenty. If a line runs past fifteen words, split it. A long script ends up being read aloud, and a script that is read aloud sounds like a recorded message.

What is a good opening line for a telecalling call in English?

A good opening line names you, your company and a reason the customer already knows: "This is your name from your company name; you enquired about our product on Monday and I am calling about that." It is one breath long, makes no claim and asks for nothing yet. The permission question comes straight after it.

What English script should I prepare for a telecaller job interview?

Prepare a one-minute mock call. Learn an opening with your name, the company and a reason, one polite reply to "I am not interested", one reply to a price objection, and a close that fixes a time. Interviewers commonly play the customer and interrupt, so practise being stopped mid-line and carrying on calmly. They are judging clarity and composure more than vocabulary.

Should I read the English script word for word on a call?

No. Learn it, then speak it in your own words. The script is there so you always know the next step, which matters most in the opening and at an objection. Reading it produces a flat voice that customers recognise within seconds. Keep the printed page nearby for the first week and glance at it only when you are stuck.

What if the customer replies in Hindi to my English script?

Follow the customer. If they answer in Hindi, continue in Hindi, and keep the same order of the call: reason, question, one benefit, next step. The structure does not depend on the language. Staying in English when the customer has clearly chosen another language makes the call harder for both of you. We keep a separate Hindi script for that.

Which English phrases should a telecaller avoid?

Avoid phrases that sound like a form letter or a sales pitch: "do the needful", "revert back", "your good name", "exciting offer" and "just following up". Each one either confuses the listener or announces a sales call. Say the plain version instead: "please do this", "I will call you back", "may I know your name", and the actual reason you rang.

How do I practise an English telecalling script by myself?

Say it aloud, standing up, ten times, and record the last attempt on your phone. Listen once for speed and once for words you stumbled on, then swap those words for simpler ones. Next, ask a friend to play the customer and interrupt you. Practising aloud is the only kind that counts, because reading silently does not train your mouth.

Can one English telecalling script work for every product?

The order works for every product; the words do not. Opening, permission, two questions, one line of pitch, objections, close and follow-up apply whether you sell insurance, courses or solar panels. What changes is the reason for the call, the two questions and the benefit. We publish separate scripts for real estate, insurance, personal loans, coaching admissions and travel.

How do I end a telecalling call politely in English?

Confirm the next step, thank the customer by name and let them hang up first. For example: "I will send the details now and call you on Thursday at eleven. Thank you for your time." If the answer was no, thank them just the same and say you will not call again. A polite ending to a refusal is remembered.

Does Telecalling Software include a telecalling script in English?

Telecalling Software is a telecalling app, so the script on this page is free to use with or without it. Inside the app, lines you send often can be kept as saved message templates and shared to WhatsApp in one tap, and the note from the last call appears the next time that number is dialed, which is what the follow-up line needs.

One line about the software

The follow-up line in this script only works if the caller can see what was said last time. Telecalling Software is a telecalling app for Android that keeps what happened on each call against the number, so the second call can begin where the first one ended. That is the whole mention; the script works on any phone.
